PRODUCTION OPERATIVE

A hands-on manufacturing & assembly role at the core of BikeStow!

Laight Designs Ltd, trading as BikeStow, is a young and growing family business primarily designing, manufacturing and selling premium plywood bike racks for the cycling enthusiast’s van, home, office and more. BikeStow has become recognised as one of the go-to brands for in-van bike racks, having been reviewed as “the standout bike product tested this year,” and “the ultimate van, home, or workshop bike racking system,” which “blurs the lines between designer furniture and logistics”.

Description:
On a day-to-day basis you will typically perform the following tasks:

  • Loading, unloading, and operating CNC router to produce plywood components.
  • Hand-chamfering, sanding and finishing said plywood components after routing.
  • Final assembly of the complete bike racks.
  • Continually checking for imperfections or quality issues at every stage of the manufacturing process.
  • Packaging and dispatching orders.
  • Maintaining a safe, tidy, and ordered production environment.

Experience:
Experience with hand-tools and production, assembly, or manufacturing, ideally in furniture, joinery, or other woodworking industries (however this isn’t a requirement).

Desired Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and a desire for perfection is paramount.
  • A preference for practical & hands-on work.
  • Good verbal and written communication.

Personal Qualities:

  • Punctual, reliable and dependable.
  • Enthusiastic & hardworking.
  • Responsible, independent and quick-thinking.

Days & Hours:

Full-time – 36 hours a week. (08:30-16:30 Mon-Thurs, 08:30-12:30 Fri)

£10 – £12 p/h
